This was the view out of our hostel, on the other side. The first day I posted images from the balcony of the other hostel (where I was first stationed). When I took this picture, I tripped over a stool that was on the balcony, and I nearly fell and busted myself up. Hah. I was too concerned with the image in my viewfinder.
On the free day, Saturday, I went to the Brooklyn Bridge and took a lot of pictures. I again became distracted and obsessed with the image in my viewfinder. I was particularly obsessed with this one view:
Turns out, while I was obsessing, I was apparently in the bike lane. This man pedals up behind me and says, in thick New Yorker accent, "Yo TOURIST. Watch out!!" And I turn around, "Oh, ah sorry." He says, "Yea, ya won't be fuh long!"
What does that even mean? Well, regardless of the meaning of this cryptic message, this was a moment of fulfillment for me. I was able to experience first hand the New York sass I had
heard so much about.
